Avra

Avra’s design career began through Drexel University’s interior design program.  She received her NCIDQ certification (#5252), and practiced interior design for over thirty years.

She is a past Professional Member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), and Certified Aging in Space Specialist (CAPS).

Her work has been recognized in a variety of awards and publications, including 2nd place in ASID’s competition for a residential space over 3,500 square feet.  Her work has been published in Home Magazine, Kitchen and Bath Design News and the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Parade Magazine.

Together with Nadine, she was awarded two United States Utility Patents, the coveted Parents Choice Gold Award, and recognized in Parents, Parenting, and Sesame Street magazines, for the Velcro-based three dimensional play and mural system called HooLoos.  The inspiration for the invention was born out of a design project for a day care center.

Nadine’s graphic arts education in Philadelphia laid the groundwork for her design career, which spanned over twenty‐five years.  She began practicing as a senior interior designer in 1990, was a long-time Allied Member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and a CPO‐CD®. She is a past Professional Member of NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers).
